What We Specialize In:

  • Menstrual Cycle Tracking & Emotional Regulation

Understanding your body is a powerful first step towards feeling confident and connected. Your cycle isn’t just about periods- its your body’s way of checking in. When you track your cycle and your emotions, you learn what your body’s trying to tell you. This isn’t about controlling your feelings-it’s about understanding them. And when your brain and body feel safe? Your cycle, mood, and energy all get easier to manage.

  • Pelvic Floor Dysfunction, Pain & Endometriosis

Living with pelvic pain, Endometriosis, or pelvic floor dysfunction can feel overwhelming. It can feel like you don’t trust your body. Work with us to find safety and reconnection to yourself and your life.

Our therapist is a certified trauma-informed pelvic health occupational therapist who supports women with pelvic floor dysfunction and chronic pelvic pain by addressing both the physical symptoms and the underlying nervous system dysregulation that often accompanies trauma held within the body.

  • Pregnancy Prep & Postpartum Rehab

Pregnancy and postpartum bring on incredible changes to your body- address back pain, strengthening for leakage & core stability, and encourage safe/active lifestyles. Create new routines that work with your busy schedule while also feeling empowered to take care of yourself. Maybe your birth didn’t go “as planned”- feel encouraged to know that our Trauma-Informed therapist can help you to find safety within your body once again.

  • Perimenopause/Menopause: Genitourinary Syndrome of Menopause

Perimenopause and menopause bring natural changes that can feel unsettling, but you’re not alone in this journey. Women have historically been gaslighted and made to believe the following are “normal” parts of aging. These are “common” but not “normal!” There are many things we can do to help with:

Vaginal dryness, irritation, or burning, Painful sex (dyspareunia), Urinary urgency/frequency/incontinence, Recurrent UTIs, Pelvic floor tightness and pain, Decreased lubrication and elasticity, Mental health changes and nervous system support

Testimonials

I believe every woman should gift herself the opportunity to learn and heal with Karla’s expert guidance...it is empowering!
— Kristel, 47
Karla was able to help me greatly improve my mobility. I’ve struggled with several different varieties of lower back and hip pain over the years. I’ve seen doctors and chiropractors and have made little progress. Karla listened to the types of issues I was facing and gave me simple things to do at home to help improve mobility and functionality. The progress I’ve made in such a short period of time has been very promising. I’m currently pregnant and she’s already provided insight on how to prepare myself for postnatal care.
— Danae, 33
Karla helped me to better understand pelvic floor function and breathing exercises to enhance my prenatal care. She is super responsive and willing to connect with me in incorporating more of my self care into everyday living. I felt I could trust her with discussing intimate questions.
— Alissa, 30

DO YOU STRUGGLE WITH..

Menstrual Pain:

Learning how our cycles fluctuate throughout the month can be our superpower! Tuning in to the changes mentally, emotionally, and physically can help us structure our monthly activities to work best with our cycles.

Bladder Issues:

Leaking, frequency, urges, and spasms are common bladder symptoms treated by pelvic floor therapy.

Pelvic Pressure & Pain:

Understanding and addressing our nervous system is key when working with persistent pain and other pelvic discomforts like heaviness and pressure. Our body can hold tension in various parts of our body which can contribute to muscle imbalances in our pelvis. This is common in women with Endometriosis and Vaginismus. Or maybe you have a Pelvic Organ Prolapse and are constantly worrying about the changes to your body. Many women struggle with anxiety and depression due to the long term struggles of pelvic floor dysfunction.

Pregnancy and Postpartum:

Pelvic floor occupational therapy can help identify coping skills while adjusting to changes to your body and new routines. In addition to emotional regulation and nervous system health, We can focus on posture to improve back pain, strengthening for leakage & core stability, encourage safe/active lifestyles plus much more before, during, and after childbirth.

Difficulty with Self Care Routines:

Does your pelvic floor dysfunction affect your sleep, toileting, bathing, leisure and work related activities? As an Occupational Therapist, I prioritize these daily activities because they are essential to living a fulfilling life.

Proactive Pelvic Health:

What if you understood your body’s stress response, proper breathing techniques, menstrual health and ways to help leakage or pelvic pain prior to attempting pregnancy?

Colorectal Conditions:

Constipation, IBS, Hemorrhoids (to name a few) can be addressed from a holistic lens: addressing your daily habits and nervous system to get to the root cause of your symptoms. If our body is in a persistent stressful state, it cannot run efficiently.

Pelvic Floor Connection:

Do you have trouble “feeling” your pelvic floor muscles? You’re not alone! Most women have not been taught the correct way to contract (kegel) and relax their pelvic floor. Coordination of these muscles is so important for a healthy bladder, bowel, and intimacy!

Retirement Routines:

Many women are excited for retirement: finally being in charge of your routine and schedule without running out the door for work. You have the time to prioritize your own health: create lasting routines to address any mental health or physical health concerns to achieve your retirement goals and maintain your independence!
